Bio
Dan Bookbinder is a writer/comedian living in New York.
Originally from Fairfield, Connecticut, Dan graduated from Rutgers University in 2003 as a Journalism/Media Studies and History major, and has studied and performed improv and sketch comedy in New York ever since.
While an undergraduate, Dan booked and produced concerts for such artists as Ludacris, Michelle Branch, and They Might Be Giants as well as comedians Dave Attell and Dave Chappelle. These experiences insipired his one-man show, “I’m an F-ing Professional.” He performed with the College Ave Players and was a founding member of the sketch troupe, “Runaway Shortbus.” He also co-wrote and produced, “Wasteland,” winner of Best Student Feature at the New York International Film and Video Festival.
Since graduating, Dan has worked in production for VH1, A&E, and the History Channel.
He has appeared in such shows as “Evente,” “People Party,” “Cafe Verge,” “the All-New Super Fun Pak Mystery/Adventure Hour,” “The Holiday Spectacular,” “Vincent Price Jr. Presents…” and “One Night Stand.” Dan also performed with the independent improv teams, “Filibuster,” “Jungle Adventure,” and “Kid Cadaver.”
He currently is a contributing writer for Toyfare Magazine, performs with the Magnet Theatre house team, “Moxie,” and is a writer/performer for the Upright Citizens Brigade House sketch team, “Choking Victim.”
